Be Stylish, do the shopping and help charity – all in a days work for the modern woman

We know multi-tasking is an easy enough thing for any woman to do but Cath Kidston is making it even easier for us to do it in style.

At Tesco you can buy a Cath Kidston bag for just £3.50 which will hold all your shopping (much nicer than those nasty plastic bags) and 50p from each bag is being donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care (with neither Tesco nor Cath Kidston profiting from the sale of this bag! – Bravo).

Woman all over the country are embracing the re-usable shopping bags – the first two designs in Cath Kidston’s stunning range of collectables have sold over 100,000 in the first week, raising £50,640 so far for Marie Curie Cancer Care, Tesco Charity of the Year.

Tesco are well on track to raising their overall target of £250, 000 for the charity, as four more classic prints are due to hit the shelves over the next six-months meaning all fashionista’s will be hitting the supermarket to grab these collectables while they can.

This bag is the first time that a major retailer has combined a designer name, a charity cause, with a pioneering new technology. The fabric of the bags is made entirely of recycled plastic (PET) bottles and are available exclusively in larger Tesco stores, across the UK, from early July. The Unique Selling Point of the bag, from an ecological point of view, is that it is made of a waste material, therefore diverting waste from landfill and avoiding the extraction and processing of raw materials.

Fashion Show at The Bullring

Bullring Birmingham’s latest edition is none other than a Cruise Ship. The city may be furthest from the coast than any other in England but over the summer shoppers will be given permission to hop on board for an array of events – the first of which, a fashion show, kicked off yesterday.

Male and female models paraded up the 48ft decking on-board Bullring’s Britannia Cruise Ship demonstrating the key trends and must-have items for summer 2008 from All Saints, Miss Selfridge, Diesel, Firetrap, Lipsy, G-Star, Ted Baker.   The event culminated in free make-overs for visitors to Britannia from the expert team at MAC.

Celebrating the best of Britain, Britannia will be open to the public seven days a week for 13 weeks with different events taking place every Wednesday.

18th  June – Karaoke Competition
18.00  – 21.00 – HMV and Galaxy host a  karaoke evening, with prizes for the best performances.
